This season hasn't been kind to The Okmulgee Bulldogs, who are still winless after their ninth match. They took a serious blow against Sperry on Friday, falling 30-0. While losing is never fun, Okmulgee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Sperry is ranked 100th).
Sperry found their leader in underclassman Landen Brooks, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Okmulgee's loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Kiefer and 8-2 Kansas (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.5% over those games). As for Sperry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Okmulgee will head out on the road to face off against Morris at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sperry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beggs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
