Basketball Recap: North Canyon Skates Past Camelback with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Canyon). They took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 55-25 win over the Camelback Spartans. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rattlers considering their 25-point performance the matchup before.

Jonni Brown had a dynamite game for North Canyon, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in assists (three). Mia Schmidlin was another key player, going 8 for 17 on her way to 12 points.

Despite the loss, Camelback still got an impressive performance from Kyliana Massey, who posted 17 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Massey is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Torres, who put up six points along with five boards and four steals.

North Canyon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Camelback, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

North Canyon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-17 defeat against Canyon View on the 5th. As for Camelback, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-10 loss against Desert Ridge on the 5th.
