It was a good run, but the Chambers Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to Northside Christian Academy at home by a decisive 76-57 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chambers has scored all season.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Patton, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The match was Patton's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Maurio Hanson II was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Northside Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyrell Shaw led the charge by scoring 28 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Arael Jones, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.
Chambers' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Northside Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chambers and Hopewell will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Hopewell's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Northside Christian Academy and Hickory Grove Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hickory Grove Christian is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
