Middle Tennessee (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012
Christian Community extended the longest winning streak in Middle Tennessee (8 Man) this week by beating Aaron Academy, 56-36. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Franklin Christian Academy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 11th to ninth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Falcons triumphed over the Falcons 32-28.
Alex Tinsley made the biggest impact on defense this week as St. Andrews-Sewanee lost to Macon Road Baptist. The 6-foot-3 senior grabbed one interception and grabbed one sack.
KC Jorgensen threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns. He went 13-25 with zero interceptions.
Weston Kenney was the best wideout in the league this week as the Royals fell to Christian Community. Kenney racked up four receptions for 120 yards.
Kenney was the most productive running back in Middle Tennessee (8 Man) this week. He ran for 223 yards on 23 carries as Aaron Academy lost to Tommy Thornton's team. Teammate Gavenjae Certeza added to the ground attack by rushing for 29 yards.
Franklin Christian Academy's Jorgensen and Alex Deits have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jorgensen has thrown for 1161 yards this season, while Deits, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 30 catches for 452 yards. Kendall Kinslow from the Mountain Lions leads the league in rushing with 823 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Royals and The Webb School. Aaron Academy enters the contest ranked second in the state, while the Feet ranks fourth.
The Webb School took down Franklin Classical 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Houston Jones ran for 166 yards in the win.
