If the Valliant Bulldogs were feeling good off their 54-10 takedown of the Fort Towson Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valliant suffered a rough 64-43 defeat at the hands of Wright City on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Valliant has suffered since December 9, 2023.
Wright City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rayner Beene out in front who scored 18 points along with five assists. Conner Green was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Valliant's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Wright City, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valliant will take on Haworth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Haworth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Valliant is ranked 74th). As for Wright City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dewar at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dewar is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
