The Yorktown Tigers had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Greensburg by a score of 49-46.
Despite the loss, Yorktown had strong showings from Kieran Tewari, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds, and Jacob Grim, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rowray, who scored 9 points.
Greensburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Drew Busick out in front who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Addison Barnes-pettit, who scored 11 points.
Yorktown's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Greensburg, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Yorktown will head out on the road to face off against Muncie Burris at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greensburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Batesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Batesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
