When it comes to explaining why South Brunswick lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaelon Johnson. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with two steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Ziyon Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
South Brunswick has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Topsail, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
South Brunswick will head out on the road to take on West Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Topsail, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Laney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Laney is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.3 points per game.
