Bell Gardens and Mark Keppel are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mark Keppel took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bell Gardens, who comes in off a win.
Bell Gardens will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Alhambra last Thursday. The Lancers walked away with a 17-12 win over the Moors. The Lancers have beaten the Moors the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Moors has come to flipping the script.

Gabriella Alvarado made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits. Alvarado was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February.
In other batting news, Bell Gardens let Jailene Roman and Nayeli Gomez run wild. Roman got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Gomez went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Roman has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Galvan, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Bell Gardens kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Mark Keppel entered their contest against Schurr last Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Aztecs came up short against the Spartans, falling 15-2. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Aztecs couldn't push the score so high this time.
Mark Keppel saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Young, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Mark Keppel's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for Bell Gardens, their record is now 10-7.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bell Gardens has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like Mark Keppel struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bell Gardens might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Mark Keppel in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
