Basketball Recap: Jaden Armes Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Aledo

There's no place like home for Saginaw, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Aledo Bearcats 77-61 on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Rough Riders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 630th, while the Bearcats are ranked 89th).

Saginaw got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Armes out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Armes a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eugene Roseberry, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 21 points and six boards.

Saginaw was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Saginaw is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-19 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Aledo, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-5.

Saginaw has already played their next match (against Chisholm Trail), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Aledo will take on Granbury at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
