There's no place like home for the Clay City Eels, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They snuck past Riverton Parke with a 46-41 win on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Clay City also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Kailyn Kirkling was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Lulu Koehler was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Riverton Parke's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenzie Nowicki, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylynn Nelson, who scored 10 points.
Clay City now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Riverton Parke, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clay City will take on North Daviess at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Riverton Parke, they will head out on the road to face off against Seeger at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
