After only one run in their last matchup, Eastern Hancock made sure to put some runs up on the board against Anderson Prep Academy on Wednesday. The Royals blew past the Jets 13-2. The Royals not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024 (when they won 13-1).

Maverick Burke looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hayden Rouse, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jalen Helderbrand, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Eastern Hancock's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Anderson Prep Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Hancock will take on Monroe Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Anderson Prep Academy, they will face off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jets are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
