On Friday, the Dixie Flyers faced the Pine View Panthers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dixie came out on top against Pine View by a score of 61-50. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Dixie also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Kyle Lemke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 29 points, 13 rebounds, and nine blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Breckon Robinson, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Pine View lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Griffen Shepherd, who scored 18 points. Nash Schroeder was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Dixie's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Pine View, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.
Dixie will take on Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Snow Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Pine View, they will head out on the road to square off against Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cedar will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Pine View is ranked 14th).
