Haskell hasn't had much luck against Windthorst recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Haskell beats Windthorst with 44 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Indians were the clear victors by a 44-18 margin over Archer City on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on three straight.
Haegen Pinkerton had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 262 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Ethan Camaco was another key player, rushing for 125 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Haskell proved: they limited Archer City to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Colton Gober for the heroic effort on defense: he. Haskell didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 13.4.
Meanwhile, Windthorst got themselves on the board against Archer City last Friday, but Archer City never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wildcats 63-0.
Haskell better focus on containing Brock Belcher and Adam Barton as the pair were huge in Windthorst's win. Belcher threw for 354 yards and four TDs on only 18 passes, while Barton gained 134 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Barton a new career-high in rushing yards (97). Ruben Willden was Belcher's top target, picking up 150 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Windthorst didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brodie Belz and Conner Schreiber.
Windthorst's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Haskell, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
