Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Falls Eagles vs. Jersey Village Falcons

Cypress Falls hasn't had much luck against Jersey Village recently, but that could start to change on Friday. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Cypress Falls Eagles challenge the Jersey Village Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Cypress Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Jersey Village likes a good challenge.

Cypress Falls is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Northbrook: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Cypress Falls blew Northbrook out of the water with a 76-15 final score. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Cypress Falls found their leader in sophomore Gisselle Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Princa Acho, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 12 points.

Cypress Falls was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Jersey Village came up short against Stratford on Tuesday and fell 46-36. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cypress Falls' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Jersey Village, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
