It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Corvian Community can now relate to. They lost 45-24 to the Tarboro Vikings on Saturday. The Cardinals' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Corvian Community still got an impressive performance from Noah Best, who rushed for 67 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 114 receiving yards. Doug Quarles III also helped out as he racked up 102 receiving yards.
Kamerin McDowell-Moore was his usual excellent self, rushing for 233 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry for Tarboro. With that strong performance, McDowell-Moore is now averaging an impressive 108.5 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Mason Satterfield, who rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Having lost for the first time this season, Corvian Community fell to 15-1. As for Tarboro, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
