Baseball Recap: Pequea Valley Comes Up Short at Home Against Hamburg

Pequea Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 11-8 to the Hamburg Hawks on Monday.

Pequea Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Zynn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Zynn a new career-high in hits. Elijah Smucker was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hamburg's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Pequea Valley will face off against Hanover at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hamburg, they will challenge Northern Lebanon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
