It was a good run, but the Meade Buffaloes unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 61-47 fall against South Gray. Meade has struggled against South Gray recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meade lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sayler Stapleton, who scored 23 points along with four steals. That was a full 48.9% of Meade's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Liz Hawley, who scored 11 points.
Meade's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for South Gray, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Meade's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bucklin at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for South Gray, they will take on Spearville at TBD on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Spearville is ranked 22nd, while South Gray is ranked 17th).
