1A District 6 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Harlan was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in 1A District 6. The Green Dragons vanquished Leslie County 24-21 earlier in the week.
Pineville took down Paintsville 40-15 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Harlan's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ty Saragas threw for 134 and one touchdown and David Allen had 76 yards receiving. On the ground Cody Logan chipped in 126 yards. Ryan Jones helped Harlan's passing attack out by catching one ball for 23 yards.
Harlan's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Green Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Saragas has thrown for 923 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Allen has 22 catches for 386 yards. Logan leads the league in rushing with 430 yards.
J.B. Donahue's team and the Eagles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with J.B. Donahue's team eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory. Logan caught one passes for 11 yards in the win.
