ASU Prep Poly will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Sequoia Charter Stallions at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
ASU Prep Poly had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They strolled past Ridgeview College Prep with points to spare, taking the game 55-38.
ASU Prep Poly's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Collins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Collins has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Collins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sequoia Charter earned a 21-8 win over BASIS - Peoria on Tuesday.
Sequoia Charter can attribute much of their success to Jack Roehl, who scored eight points, and Asher Roehl, who scored seven points along with six rebounds. Roehl continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
ASU Prep Poly's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sequoia Charter, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: ASU Prep Poly have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 34.3 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Sequoia Charter, though, as they've been averaging only 23.8 rebounds per game. Given ASU Prep Poly's sizeable advantage in that area, Sequoia Charter will need to find a way to close that gap.
