Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwood Temple Academy). They walked away with a 113-102 win over the Eastern Wayne Warriors on Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwood Temple Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenny Vera, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards. Vera's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Kindle, who went 12 of 23 on his way to 30 points and three steals.

Northwood Temple Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Eastern Wayne's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Michael Bailey, who posted 31 points and seven rebounds, and Charlie Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 boards. Thomas has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zavion Burden, who had 11 points and seven boards.

Northwood Temple Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points per game. As for Eastern Wayne, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Northwood Temple Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-61 defeat against Harrells Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Eastern Wayne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 86-79 victory against Southern Wayne on the 3rd.
