Softball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Drops Highest Score of Season Against Desert Pines

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinecrest Academy Cadence). They blew past the Desert Pines Jaguars 27-11 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence got a massive performance out of Emily Shelley, who scored four runs and stole nine bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those nine stolen bases gave Shelley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rorrie Mize, who scored four runs and stole nine bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .892. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Desert Pines, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.
