The Babcock Trailblazers came tearing into Friday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on The Classical Academy of Sarasota with a sharp 76-56 victory. Babcock's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Babcock found their leader in underclassman Jameson Habing, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Habing has scored at least a third of Babcock's points. Nathan Allen was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Babcock pushed their record up to 12-9 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for The Classical Academy of Sarasota, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Babcock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. The Classical Academy of Sarasota is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Saint Stephen's Episcopal is ranked 678th, while the Patriots are ranked 690th).
