What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four games. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. West Point is 4-1-1 when Navarro posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise.
Navarro wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kenyer Martinez, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-3. What's more, Martinez posted two runs, the most he's had over his last nine matchups. Jacob Gonzalez was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
West Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marana only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, Apollo made easy work of Shadow Ridge on Thursday and carried off an 8-1 win. Considering the Hawks have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jesus Beltran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.
At the plate, Diego Ramos was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Roberto Quinones, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Apollo and bumps their season record up to 16-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for West Point, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11-1.
