The Wynford Royals put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Edison by a score of 74-65. Given Wynford's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Edison is ranked 322nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Edison lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kayden Bourget. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bourget has scored all season. Grayson Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Wynford's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Edison, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wynford will challenge Upper Sandusky at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edison, they will head out on the road to face off against Vermilion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
