The Bevier Wildcats lost against the Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Bevier took a serious blow against Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, falling 67-19. Bevier was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-11.
Grundy County/Newtown-Harris' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zack Cross, who scored 16 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbin Axtell, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Bevier now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Bevier will be playing in front of their home fans against La Plata at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grundy County/Newtown-Harris is on the road again on Thursday and play against Green City at 6:30 p.m. on December 7th.
