After two games on the road, Breathitt County is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting Muhlenberg County at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Breathitt County pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 78-71 to Lawrence County.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Braxton Terry, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Hamilton, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Muhlenberg County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westmoreland.
Breathitt County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Muhlenberg County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
