Knoxville Catholic entered their tilt with McCallie on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 80-67 win over the McCallie Blue Tornado. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Blue Tornado are ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Knoxville Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Asbaty, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 17 points and eight rebounds. Asbaty is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tj Tipton, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

Knoxville Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for McCallie, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-14.

Knoxville Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 91-68 loss against Bradley Central on the 14th. McCallie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
