Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over Page. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Josiah Jones picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Florence had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 14-6 win over the Eagles. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Gophers were the (much) better team in the second half.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy better keep an eye on Soldier Blouir. He was instrumental in Florence's win, rushing for 81 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 34 receiving yards. Victor Juarez was another key player, gaining 115 total yards.
Florence was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Florence's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Kaidin Valle and Juarez, who each picked up one sack apiece. Florence got some further help from Zayden Cundiff: he forced one fumble and made 20 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Florence, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Florence in their previous matchup back in September, winning 39-27. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Gophers' Dayron Neal, who rushed for 81 yards and one score, and also picked up 55 receiving yards.
