The Red Cloud Warriors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 34-18 win over Deshler. Red Cloud pushed the score to 32-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Deshler cut but never quite recovered from.
Red Cloud found their leader in underclassman Wyatt Frey, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Frey is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Ely, who scored 13 points.
Deshler lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cameron Harding, who scored four points along with three steals.
Red Cloud pushed their record up to 10-11 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Deshler, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Cloud will take on Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Red Cloud focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Deshler, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Blue Hill at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
