Baseball Recap: Daniel Wins Going Away Against Berea

Daniel won the last time they faced Berea and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Lee Turnipseed, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasean Perry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Daniel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Daniel and bumps their season record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Berea, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Daniel will welcome Travelers Rest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berea, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
