Even though the Horizon Hawks have not done well against the Fairview Knights recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Horizon walked away with a 60-51 victory over Fairview. That's two games straight that Horizon has won by exactly nine points.
Horizon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Northrup, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Northrup has scored all season. Brady Greene was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Fairview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Spencer Brown, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Toray Davis, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
The win got Horizon back to even at 6-6. As for Fairview, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Horizon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Prairie View at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Prairie View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Horizon is ranked 87th). As for Fairview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Range at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mountain Range's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
