The Ashbrook Greenwave had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 45-16 victory over Kings Mountain on the road. That 45-16 margin sets a new team best for Ashbrook this season.
Ashbrook was led to victory by Duraejah Hardin and Nykira Arrington. Hardin scored 20 points, while Arrington dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Arrington set a new season high mark in blocks with six. Another player making a difference was Arianna Mcdowell, who scored a points along with ten rebounds.
Ashbrook's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Kings Mountain, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
Ashbrook is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Lincolnton at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th. Kings Mountain will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Weddington at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Weddington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kings Mountain in North Carolina (Weddington is ranked 150th, while Kings Mountain is ranked 573rd).
