The Pana Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. Pana was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.
Despite the loss, Pana saw an underclassman step up: Joey Laker scored 24 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Laker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Casner, who scored ten points along with three steals.
It was another big night for Claire Seal, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 21 rebounds for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. That makes it four consecutive games in which Seal has scored at least a third of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Monts, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Pana has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-27 record this season. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-12.
Pana does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond also has no future games currently scheduled.
