Abby Warren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Gianna Granzella was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Avery Haynes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, while Biggs put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Willits. Biggs was the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over Willits. The result was nothing new for Biggs, who have now won 19 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Willits' batters probably weren't too happy with Gracie Sheppard, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (she gave up a single walk).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Arden Vines, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Biggs pushed their record up to 27-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Miramonte, their win bumped their record up to 19-8.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Miramonte hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Biggs struggles in that department as they've averaged .420. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
