West Broward had won three straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 11-5 to make it four. Everything went their way against the Flanagan Falcons as they made off with a 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.
Israel Hector paced West Broward's offense, picking up ten kills. Hector got some help from Max Fischman and his 40 assists. Fischman was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.
As for Flanagan, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-10. Considering the last time they couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.
Flanagan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Daniel Chang, who had 20 digs and one assist, and Oscar Benitez, who had 16 digs and one assist. Benitez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 16 or more in each of the last four games he's played.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. West Broward will challenge rival South Broward at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Flanagan is set to face off against their familiar foe Cooper City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
