The Orem Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Salem Hills Skyhawks at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Orem is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Orem proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 13) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Stansbury 3-2.

Ashton Belnap was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camber Hancock, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Avery Louise Allen also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Salem Hills put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Timpview with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Samaya Haveron was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and three runs. Aliyah Elmer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Salem Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timpview only posted an OBP of .320.
The win got Orem back to even at 6-6. As for Salem Hills, their record is now 7-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Orem hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Salem Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Orem suffered a grim 23-0 defeat to Salem Hills when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
