The Towanda Black Knights fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Tunkhannock 55-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Towanda, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Rylie Vanderpool continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 105 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahshon Garner, who gained 97 total yards and two touchdowns.
Towanda's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Edan Flynn and his two sacks.
Towanda has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Tunkhannock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Towanda will head out on the road to face off against Wyalusing Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Tunkhannock, they will be playing at home against Williamsport at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
