Softball Recap: Old Forge Has No Trouble Against Western Wayne

Old Forge won the last time they faced Western Wayne and things went their way on Friday too. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Wildcats. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blue Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kamryn Notari made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Notari was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Old Forge let Lilianna Lenceski and Kate O'Hearn run wild. Lenceski went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while O'Hearn scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That triple was Lenceski's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Arnold, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Old Forge's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Western Wayne, their record now sits at 1-3.

Coming up, Old Forge will be playing at home against Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Western Wayne, they will head out to challenge Mid Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
