Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Beaver Local's 13th in Last 15 Outings

Beaver Local won the last time they faced Bellaire and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Beavers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Big Reds. Considering the Beavers have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ciara Call made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Call was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 contests.

In other batting news, Tatum Duncan was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Ally Wright was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Beaver Local always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellaire only posted an OBP of .348.

Beaver Local has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Bellaire, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaver Local will square off against Girard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Beavers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Bellaire, they will challenge River at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Pilots have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
