Crete-Monee had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 12-8 to make it four. They came up short against the Oak Lawn Spartans, falling 22-6. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Madison Myers and Giselle Angulo stepped up to the plate in a big way. Myers went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run, while Angulo went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Raechel Lindsay, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Oak Lawn, they now have a winning record of 11-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 11 runs or more this season.
On Oak Lawn's side, Anaysa Salmon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Salmon has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Oak Lawn got a massive performance out of Kamya Feigl, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most RBI Feigl has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Clark Zylius, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Crete-Monee has already played their next matchup, an 18-8 win against Rich Township on the 11th. As for Oak Lawn, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-6 loss against Evergreen Park on the 11th.
