Godwin and Glen Allen are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Eagles will take on the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Godwin has nine wins , while Glen Allen has eight).
On Saturday, Godwin needed a bit of extra time to put away Kellam. They had just enough and edged out the Knights 4-3. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.
Katelyn Hubley made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabrielle Coleman, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Bella Ross also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Godwin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Glen Allen made sure to put some runs up on the board against J.R. Tucker on Tuesday. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-1 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by nine runs or more this season.
Like Godwin, Glen Allen also got a great game from a two-way player: Jaidyn Tillman. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tillman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other pitching news, Heidi Gill looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.
Back at the plate, Glen Allen got a massive performance out of Alison Via, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ila Goding, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Godwin's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Glen Allen, their record is now 8-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Godwin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Glen Allen struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Godwin's way against Glen Allen in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Godwin made off with an 8-2 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
