Spearville is 9-1 against Stanton County since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Royal Lancers will square off against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Spearville barely beat Skyline the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Royal Lancers put the hurt on the Thunderbirds with a sharp 16-9 win on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Royal Lancers have posted against the Thunderbirds since May 5, 2022.

Spearville let Morghyn Rucker and Makiah Kliesen run wild. Rucker got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Kliesen got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Rucker is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makiya Rosser, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
Spearville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Stanton County waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Larks as they made off with an 11-5 win.
Kaydence McCleary made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). McCleary was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Valeria Ortega was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Nairn, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
The victory got Spearville back to even at 10-10. As for Stanton County, their record now sits at 14-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Spearville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Stanton County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Spearville was able to grind out a solid win over Stanton County in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 14-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royal Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
