The Columbus Christian Crusaders pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-62 to Mooresville Christian. Columbus Christian has not had much luck with Mooresville Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Columbus Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayden Howe, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Walden, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Gresh Warren went supernova for Mooresville Christian, dropping a double-double on 39 points and 11 rebounds. Harrison Craney was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Columbus Christian now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Mooresville Christian, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus Christian will challenge Seven Oaks Classical at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mooresville Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Lighthouse Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
