The Africentric Early College Nubians stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past Walnut Ridge 86-20 at home. The win was familiar territory for Africentric Early College who now have six in a row.
Africentric Early College's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natiah Nelson, who scored 23 points. Nelson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Kamryn Grant was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Despite the loss, Walnut Ridge still got an impressive performance from Nyah Hubbard, who scored ten points.
Africentric Early College has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Walnut Ridge, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Africentric Early College won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
