There's no place like home for the King Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 62-54 victory over Newsome on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as King also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
King's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julien Barnett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Ian McLargin was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
King now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Newsome, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.
King will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Middleton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Lions are ranked 339th). As for Newsome, they will square off against the Mustangs at TBD on Thursday. Lakewood Ranch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 269 points over their last four contests.
