This season hasn't been kind to the River Valley Mustangs, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 58-31 loss at the hands of New Buffalo. River Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
New Buffalo found their leader in underclassman Lucas Forker, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was James Shaw, who scored ten points along with three steals.
River Valley's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11. As for New Buffalo, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
River Valley will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Howardsville Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in Michigan (the Eagles are ranked 319th, while the Mustangs are ranked 716th). As for New Buffalo, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Our Lady of the Lake Catholic will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
