Two dominant backs in Reginald Jones and Devon Williams are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sanger Indians will face off against the Ford Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sanger is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 91-56 win over Farmersville. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Farmers are ranked 613th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sanger to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reed Sebastian, who threw for 290 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Sebastian's passing game has become a key predictor of the Indians' success: the team is 6-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Austin Martin handled things on the ground, rushing for 120 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Sanger was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 575 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Sanger didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Leading the way was Luke Hendricks and his one interception. Sanger got some further help from Kale Barr: he made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Ford over Kemp in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panthers blew the Yellowjackets out of the water with a 57-0 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won three in a row.
Ford's win came from a few key players Sanger will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emmanuel Sevilla, who rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making six total tackles. Payton Wallen was another key player, rushing for 27 yards and one TD.
Sanger's record now sits at 7-3. As for Ford, their record is now 8-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Sanger has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 312.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 319.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
