After a dominant victory in their game on Tuesday, Concord First Assembly Academy were humbled on Friday. They fell just short of Cannon by a score of 18-21. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the state rankings mixed up the winning team.
No one put up better numbers for Cannon than senior Gabe Ortiz, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 164 yards and 1 touchdown. Ortiz has been a consistent playmaker for Cannon as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him. Senior Larkin Lancaster also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
Concord First Assembly Academy's loss pushes them down to 2-6. The win (their 3rd in a row) raised Cannon's record to 4-5.
Concord First Assembly Academy will take on SouthLake Christian Academy at home at 7:00 PM next week. Cannon will stay at home against Forest Hills at 7:00 PM.
