The Veterans Memorial Chargers will face off against the Los Fresnos Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Veterans Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Veterans Memorial is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over Hanna on Friday.

Camila Olvera was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gia Perez was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February of 2024. Mia Gonzalez was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Veterans Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Los Fresnos came up short against San Benito on Friday, falling 21-2. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Greyhounds recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Los Fresnos saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leslie Cantu, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Veterans Memorial has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. Los Fresnos' loss dropped their record down to 10-8-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Veterans Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Los Fresnos struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Veterans Memorial suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Los Fresnos in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Can Veterans Memorial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
