Decatur (Ala.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Josh Matthews ran for a touchdown with 7:00 remaining, bringing the team to victory over
Hartselle (Ala.) 21-14.
The score was knotted at 14 heading into the half. The Red Raiders took the lead for good on a Matthews touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Graham was the top performer for Decatur. He ran for two touchdowns and kicked three extra points.
Deacon Aldridge made a difference for the Tigers. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.
DHS got revenge for last year's 28-21 loss to Hartselle with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Hartselle, which notched a 21-14 victory over Cullman in its previous outing. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Red Raiders, which was coming off a 33-10 defeat at the hands of Florence in its previous game.
Hartselle (4-1) goes up against Muscle Shoals in a 5A Region 8 game matchup next week, while Decatur (3-2) locks horns with Bob Jones in a 6A Region 8 game.
